The Serenity 1000 is our softer mattress, built for people who find a firm bed too hard on the hips and shoulders. A 4 cm layer of soft, cushioning Flex Comfort Foam sits under a quilted layer of cooling gel memory foam, so the surface gently moulds to your shape the moment you lie down. Beneath it, 1,000 individually pocketed FlexCore springs do the real work: each one responds to your weight on its own, so the support stays precise however you sleep, and one person turning over does not disturb the other.

Who the Serenity 1000 is for
- Side sleepers. Lying on your side puts your weight on two narrow points, the hip and the shoulder. The soft comfort layer lets them settle in while the springs keep your spine in line.
- Anyone who finds firm beds too hard. If you wake with sore pressure points on a firm or orthopaedic mattress, this is the one to choose. Cushioning first, support a close second.
- Couples. Each spring moves on its own, so movement stays on one side of the bed. The reinforced border means you can use the full width without the edge collapsing.
- Warm sleepers. Gel infused memory foam moves heat away from the surface, and the sprung core lets air move through the mattress, so it sleeps cooler than an all foam mattress.

How it is built
- 2 cm quilted cooling gel memory foam. Memory foam infused with cooling gel and quilted into the cover, so it moulds to your natural body contours and draws heat away from the surface.
- 4 cm soft Flex Comfort Foam. The layer that gives the Serenity its gentle, enveloping feel and takes the pressure off hips and shoulders.
- 16 cm of 1,000 FlexCore pocket springs. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and responds to your weight independently, for precise support and low motion transfer.
- Reinforced Flex Support Border. A firm perimeter built for corner to corner support, so sitting on the side or sleeping near the edge does not feel like a drop.
- 3 cm Flex Support Foam base. A dense foundation layer that keeps the springs level on any standard bed base and adds that extra level of support.
Total depth is approximately 25 cm. The mattress is FIRA tested.

How soft is the Serenity 1000 mattress?
Soft, but not saggy. The 4 cm soft Flex Comfort layer and the quilted gel memory foam let you sink into the surface, while the 1,000 FlexCore pocket springs underneath keep the support precise. If you want a firmer feel, choose the Align 1000, which uses the same spring core with a firmer comfort layer.
Is a soft mattress bad for your back?
Not if the support underneath is right. The Serenity 1000 is soft on the surface and sprung beneath, so your spine is still held in line while your hips and shoulders settle into the comfort layer. Side sleepers in particular often find this more comfortable than a firm mattress. Anyone with a specific medical condition should ask their GP or physiotherapist what they recommend.
What sizes does the Serenity 1000 come in, and will it fit my bed frame?
Two standard UK sizes: Double 135 × 190 cm and King Size 150 × 200 cm. Both fit any standard UK bed frame or divan base of the same size. Check your frame's internal measurement if you are unsure.
Can I use this mattress in my sofa bed?
No. At around 25 cm deep it is a mattress for a bed, not for a folding sofa bed mechanism. If you want a more comfortable sofa bed, add our Cool Gel Memory Foam Topper, which is cut to the sleeping areas of our sofa beds and lifts off when you fold the bed away.
Does memory foam sleep hot?
Standard memory foam can. The top layer of the Serenity 1000 is gel infused, which moves heat away from the surface, and it sits over a sprung core rather than a solid foam block, so air moves through the mattress far more freely than in an all foam mattress.
Will I feel my partner moving?
Much less than on an open coil mattress. Each of the 1,000 springs is in its own pocket and compresses on its own, so movement on one side does not travel across the bed.
Does it need turning?
Rotate it head to foot every few months so the comfort layers settle evenly. A fitted sheet or mattress protector will keep the quilted cover clean.
